Phylum: Basidiomycota Family: Pluteaceae
Volvariella gloiocephala (DC.) Boekhout & Enderle
Stubble Rosegill
A common species nationally but few records from Scotland. Found in stubble fields and pasture which has been manured. A large fungus, not easily overlooked. It grows from a vovla but this can be difficult to find in mature specimens
