Hygrocybe coccinea (Schaeffer) P. Kummer

Scarlet waxcap

A medium-sized waxcap, domed when young, flattening out with age. Bright red, sticky, getting an orange edge with age. Gills red with a yellow edge. Stipe concolorous with cap, lighter at base. Common in unimproved grassland.
